CPR wishes all our clients a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Welcoming in Approved Document R on 1st January 2017.

With the nations ever growing thirst for faster and faster high-speed electronic communications networks, Regulation R” (Physical Infrastructure for High-Speed Electronic Communications Networks) will ensure ALL new buildings and buildings having undergone major renovation works on or after the 1st of January 2017, are ready to accept high-speed electronic communications.

What is required?

Nothing more than to provide an access point for the service provider to bring the network into the building and a network termination point for the end user to connect to, in a typical single-occupancy building.

In a multi-dwelling building for example a common access point must be provided for the provider to connect to and suitable ducting to separate termination points provided in each dwelling, all connected to the common access point. The internal connections can also be achieved by using wireless technology where there is evidence that network speeds can be met.
